1. Workers should be aware of their legal rights such as paid maternity leave (60 days); working hours not exceeding 8h/day and 48h/week; paid sick leave; x 5 hourly rate for overtime work. (Employment Act 1955)
  2. The Malaysian Investment Development Authority offers an overview for employment in the manufacturing, construction, plantation, agricultural, services and domestic help sector and a respective list of countries. Only nationals from these countries are allowed to work in Malaysia in the listed sectors.
  3. Foreign Domestic Helps have to be nationals of one of the following countries: Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Sri Lanka.
